This super soft and easy Nutella Banana Bread is the perfect weekend family treat. I took my simple recipe of classic banana bread and added swirls of chocolate hazelnut Nutella spread into the batter making it even more delicious. If you prefer chocolate chips in your bread here is another recipe. Serve with butter or more Nutella. I hope you enjoy!

How To Make This Nutella Banana Bread?

I always start by gathering all of the ingredients needed in a recipe and weighing and measuring everything before I start to cook or bake. This part is really important and key in keeping everything organized.

The full printable version is below.

To make this Nutella banana bread you start by greasing a loaf pan by spraying it with vegetable oil.

Then you mash the bananas in a medium sized bowl and stir in melted butter, eggs and vanilla extract.

Add all of the dry ingredients and mix until combined.

Drop the Nutella into the batter with a tablespoon and gently mix together until the batter is marbled. Careful not to overmix the batter.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake in the oven for 50-55 minutes.

TIP: If the banana bread is starting to get too brown before the baking time is up you can put aluminum foil or parchment paper over the top of the bread to prevent it from burning.

Once cooked, take out of the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before removing from the pan.

Serving Suggestions

I’m usually very classic when it comes to banana bread servings and typically just serve it with butter. But you can also serve it with, more Nutella (spread a thin layer on top), whipped cream, other nut butters such as peanut or almond, jams or maple syrup.

How To Store This Nutella Banana Bread?

Store leftovers of the banana bread in an airtight container or a Ziploc bag at room temperature for up to 3-4 days.

Notes + Substitutions

Butter –  Instead of melted butter you can use the same amount of vegetable oil or coconut oil.

Sugar – Instead of using granulated sugar you can use the same amount of brown sugar, raw cane sugar, coconut sugar or maple syrup.

All Purpose Flour – For a healthier version of gluten free version you can use whole wheat flour, almond flour, coconut flour or gluten free flour.

Nutella – Instead of Nutella you can any other type of chocolate hazelnut butter, peanut butter or almond butter.

Avoid Burning

If the banana bread is starting to get too brown before the baking time is up you can put aluminum foil or parchment paper over the top of the bread to prevent it from burning.
