Delicious Pan Fried Gnocchi
Pan frying gnocchi is super easy and perfect for when you need a quick weeknight dinner or comforting meal. It’s ready in 15 minutes and it works great as either appetizer or dinner.
When pan frying gnocchi you don’t have to boil it at all. You simply add it straight to the melted butter and fry it until it becomes crispy and starting to brown on the outside. It will be pillowy soft on the inside!
How To Make This Garlic Butter Parmesan Fried Gnocchi?
I always start by gathering all of the ingredients needed in a recipe and weighing and measuring everything before I start to cook or bake. This part is really important and key in keeping everything organized.
To make this garlic butter parmesan fried gnocchi is super simple! You start by melting butter in a pan over medium high heat.
Then you add the gnocchi to it and season with salt. Fry for 8-10 minutes until crispy and starting to brown.
In the last 30 seconds of cooking stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter, minced garlic and half of the grated Parmesan cheese.
Remove from heat and stir in chopped fresh parsley and remaining grated Parmesan cheese right before serving.
How To Store This Garlic Butter Parmesan Fried Gnocchi?
You can store any leftovers of this gnocchi in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. To serve just heat in the microwave until heated through.
Notes & Substitutions
Parmesan – I use finely grated parmesan cheese in this recipe but you can substitute that for grana padano or pecorino.
‘Also instead of adding half of the parmesan cheese in the last 30 seconds of cooking to melt, you can skip that and just toss the gnocchi with all of it off the heat same time as you add the chopped parsley.’
Parsley – You can use any fresh herbs of your choosing instead of parsley. For example fresh thyme would be great for a more earthy taste.
Add More Butter In The End –In the beginning of the recipe, I melt 3 tablespoons of butter to fry the gnocchi in. But because the gnocchi soaks up a part of that butter, I like to add 1 extra tablespoon in the end (you can add more if you like) same time as I add the minced garlic and half of the grated parmesan cheese. It gives the gnocchi more of a buttery sauce.

Oh darn I boiled it, and it had a tiny hint of sour or yeast taste. I bought the gnocchi in the pasta section at Trader Joe’s. It said to boil it first and after that I followed your recipe but the pasta was crunchy. I’ll try it again but this time skip the boiling step.
