What’s better than freshly made soft homemade banana bread? And in this case Chocolate Chip Banana Bread. The classic banana bread made a little sweeter with added chocolate chips that melt in the bread as it bakes. Best served while still warm out of the oven with some butter (my favorite banana bread serving method, simple but delicious!) or your favorite banana bread topping. This bread is also delicious the day after and can be kept for up to 3 days at room temperature in an airtight container or Ziploc bag. I hope you enjoy this chocolate chip banana bread!
Recipe Notes:
If the banana bread starts to get a little too brown on the top only halfway through the baking time, I like to put aluminum foil over the top of the bread to prevent it from burning.
Substitutions:
BUTTER – Instead of melted butter you can use the same amount of vegetable oil or coconut oil.
SUGAR – Instead of using granulated sugar you can use the same amount of brown sugar, raw cane sugar, coconut sugar, or maple syrup.
FLOUR – For a healthier version or gluten free version you can use almond flour, coconut flour or gluten free flour.
CHOCOLATE CHIPS – Instead of chocolate chips you can use chocolate chunks cut into bite size pieces.
