Hello healthy milkshakes! These 4 Healthy Dessert Smoothies make me feel like im sipping on an ice cream shake. During the summer season it’s nice to have simple recipes for when you are craving something sweet but want it to be on the healthier side and not take a lot of time to prepare. What more could you ask for on a warm summers day?
Here in this post I share recipes of 4 smoothies that remind me of dessert flavors.
-Strawberry Vanilla (my favorite cake in smoothie form)
-Peanut Butter Banana (classic combination that never goes wrong)
-Chocolate Peanut Butter (banana chocolate peanut butter goodness = my personal favorite)
–Chocolate Banana (Great for those who don’t want the added peanut butter flavor in a chocolate smoothie)
These dessert smoothies are very easy to make. All you need is a good blender and before you know it your sipping on your favorite dessert smoothie flavor and wanting another one right after!
When I make a smoothie, especially a dessert smoothie. I think it’s extremely important to have frozen banana in it. It gives it that ice cream/shake consistency you want in a dessert smoothie.
Why Greek Yogurt In These Smoothies?
I like to add a small amount of greek yogurt to make them even creamier. But it’s optional and they taste great without it as well.
I’ve also tried making them with dairy free plant based greek yogurt and they came out just as delicious. So if dairy free, that’s definitely something you should try.
How To Make Smoothies Sweeter?
For me personally, the frozen banana in all of these smoothies give them enough sweetness. But if you want to make them even sweeter you could try adding:
-Honey
-Agave nectar
-Maple Syrup

Ingredients
Strawberry Vanilla Smoothie
1 frozen banana
3 frozen strawberries
225 ml / 8 oz unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp greek yogurt (optional)
½ tsp pure vanilla extract
Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie
1 frozen banana
225 ml / 8 oz unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp greek yogurt (optional)
1 tbsp natural peanut butter
Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
1 frozen banana
225 ml / 8 oz unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp greek yogurt (optional)
1 tbsp natural peanut butter
1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
Chocolate Banana Smoothie
1 frozen banana
225 ml / 8 oz unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp greek yogurt (optional)
2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions
Blend all of the ingredients together in a blender for 1 minute until smooth.
Notes
If you want a thinner smoothie just increase the amount of almond milk to for example 250 ml / 1 cup.
Instead of using regular unsweetened almond milk + cocoa powder you could use unsweetened chocolate almond milk, I sometimes do that and it turns out great as well.
